Cambodia boosts tourism skills to meet rising demand from Korean visitors
PHNOM PENH, Jan 22, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia is strengthening its tourism workforce to better meet the needs of South Korean visitors, one of its top ten source markets, through a new cooperation agreement with a Korean partner.
The Ministry of Tourism on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Go & Do Social Welfare Corporation, aimed at boosting skills and service quality in Cambodia’s tourism sector. The agreement followed a courtesy call by Park Woo Hee, president of the Korean organisation, on Tourism Minister Huot Hak.

Officials said cooperation between the ministry and the organisation began before the COVID-19 pandemic and has steadily expanded, delivering positive results. The new MoU formalises and strengthens this partnership.
Under the deal, Go & Do will support training programmes to improve Korean language skills among Cambodian students and tour guides, directly addressing the expectations of Korean tourists. The organisation also pledged to donate ambulances to enhance tourist safety and emergency response capacity.
Minister Hak praised the initiative and called for deeper cooperation to advance Cambodia’s tourism sector and expand people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
South Korean tourist arrivals to Cambodia fell 12.1 percent in the first ten months of 2025 to 138,524 visitors, according to the tourism ministry.
