SIEM REAP, Mar. 10, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia’s APSARA National Authority has urged visitors, artists, and content creators to act responsibly when filming or taking photographs at the Angkor Archaeological Park, warning that inappropriate activities risk undermining the dignity of the World Heritage site.

In a public appeal, APSARA said it appreciates citizens and digital creators who promote Cambodian culture through respectful photography and video productions. It welcomed commemorative shoots and cultural projects carried out in cooperation with relevant ministries.

APSARA Authority Urges Responsible Filming

Officials noted that most visitors have complied with updated guidelines introduced in August 2024, but some activities — including unsuitable performances, fashion shows, or unauthorized product promotions — have raised concerns. Tourism officers and security staff may inspect or question filming deemed disruptive to public order or cultural values.

APSARA also urged social media users to remove content that could mislead the public, stressing that collective responsibility is vital to safeguarding Angkor’s cultural and historical integrity. The site, which attracts millions of visitors annually, is regarded as a symbol of Cambodia’s national identity and pride.
